Hello, my name is Sho.

I’m a writer and editor and I cook a lot. I also eat, like a human being.

I’m half-Japanese, half-American; I grew up in Hong Kong, the Philippines, and India, and have traveled a fair amount in Asia. Most of the stuff I make, eat, and think about can be explained by that sentence.

I am also writing a ramen cookbook for W.W. Norton. If that’s why you stumbled on this substack, or if you’re here because of my Instagram page, then you’d be forgiven for thinking that noodsletter is primarily about noodles.

Instead, I’ll share a list of things that have piqued my interest in the last two weeks, every two weeks: internet flotsam, recipes, kitchen experiments.
